Scientists Unite In SOS For Murray-Darling

Us Australians really know how to fuck up our country. Imagine only being here for two hundred years and we have whole ecosystems on the brink of collapse. Shame on us. I really hope that Minister Penny Wong will do something about this. Anything. Anything more than just lip service.

I kind of admire her, on some levels. When I see her in the news I think, now that's the kind of woman I'd like to be, in another life. Perhaps I could've been like her. She comes across as so in control. I guess I'd find it disappointing if she did nothing. On the other hand, she's a politician, and didn't Mum say you never trust Politicians?

I have a feeling in ten years time we'll be looking at a defunct Coorong and remembering all the things we couldve done to save it that we just didn't do.

Gee, what a positive outlook I have.

Aside from the environmental concerns, my life is pretty good right now. Baby Yves is just sunshine. She's such a good baby. At four months she's so settled. And funny, and friendly, and smiley. Jo's full on. But we can handle her. I'm pretty happy. I told my doctor I'd enjoy the happiness while it lasted. To which she replied, "anything less is unacceptable."
